What is included in my Congress registration fee?

Full Registration includes Monday to Wednesday

  • Attendance at all Congress sessions on Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday

What is the dress code for the Congress?

During the congress days, smart casual attire is preferred.

For the social program, smart casual attire is recommended for the welcome party and for the congress gala dinner lounge suit/evening wear is recommended.

Is there car parking available?

Yes, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre there is undercover parking for 1500 vechicles.

What is the cut-off date to register for the XXXII World Congress of Audiology?

Late registration are available up to the 30 April 2014.

Registrations will be available onsite after this date.

I need to cancel, Is there a cancellation policy?

All cancellations need to be made in writing to Claire Holdom at Consec - Conference Management via email address

Congress Cancellation and Refund Policy

Delegates who find themselves unable to attend the congress after submitting a registration form are most welcome to nominate a substitute. In the case of a cancellation, delegates must inform Consec - Conference Management in writing of their inability to attend. A refund of the registration fee, less a cancellation fee of $110.00(AUD) including GST will be made on or before 3 April 2014.

No refunds will be made to anything after the 3 April 2014.

All refunds prior to 3 April 2014 will be made after the conference. Any changes made to a registration within seven (7) days of the meeting will incur a $40.00 administrative fee.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy

Delegates who cancel their accommodation booking must inform Consec - Conference Management in writing of their cancellation.

Will my details be published in the delegate list?

In registering for this congress, relevant details will be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates (name and organisation only - in accordance with the Australian National Privacy Act) and may be made available to parties directly related to the congress including Consec - Conference Management, the congress organising committee, venues and accommodation providers (for the purposes of room bookings and meeting options), key sponsors (subject to strict conditions) and parties associated with related congress'.

Do I need to wear a name badge?

Your name badge is your entry to the XXXII World Congress of Audiology 2014 sessions and trade exhibition. If you misplace your name badge, please see the Consec - Conference Management staff at the registration desk.

No smoking policy?

All internal areas of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre are non-smoking areas and the XXXII World Congress of Audiology supports a non-smoking policy.

Do you have any specific needs?

We endeavour to ensure delegates attending the congress with specific needs are catered for. Should you require particular assistance, please make a note on your registration form or contact Consec - Conference Management via email:

At the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the undercover car park has direct lift access to the Centre's Convention and Exhibition facilities.

Signage throughout the building is large and clear to ensure it can be read by all. Staff are trained to speak clearly when making announcements to public areas and hearing loops for all areas are available on request.

Is there security at the venue?

Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre management is fully committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all events at the Centre. The Centres security team of trained and experienced professionals provides venue security 24/7.The Centre is equipped with surveillance cameras and has a police station adjacent to the centre.

Do I need personal insurance?

Delegates shall be regarded in every aspect as carrying their own risk for loss or injury to persons or property, including baggage during the XXXII World Congress of Audiology. We strongly recommend that at the time of booking your travel and tours you take out a travel insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include the loss of deposit through cancellation, medical insurance, loss or damage to personal property, financial loss incurred through disruptions to accommodation or travel arrangements due to strikes or other industrial action. The organisers are in no way responsible for any claims concerning insurance.

What is the goods and services tax (GST) mean?

A goods and services tax of 10% is levied on most purchases in Australia and is included in the purchase price of the goods or services. You may be eligible for a refund of the gst on goods purchased in Australia. For more information visit www.customs.gov.au

What public transport facilities are available?

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre's central location is convenient with multiple transport facilities available.

The city's international and domestic airports are only a twenty (20) minute taxi ride from the city centre and the Convention Centre.

Airtrain - catch the airtrain from South Brisbane Station to Brisbane's international and domestic airports. Tickets are available for this service from the Client and Visitors Services Centre located in the main foyer of the Convention Centre.

Bus services – Southbank is serviced by two bus stations: The Cultural Centre Station on Melbourne Street and the Southbank Busway Station on the corner of Colchester and Tribune Streets, Southbank.

CityCats – a popular and speedy way to travel the river. The CityCat terminal is located outside the riverside restaurants on the riverside promenade. CityCats operate daily from 5.30am to 10.30pm.

Taxi – Taxi ranks are located outside the main entrance to the Convention Centre, at Mantra Southbank in Grey Street and there is a taxi drop off located at the Grey Street main entrance.

Trains - There are two train stations within a five minute walk of the Convention Centre. Southbank Station accessed from Tribune Street and South Brisbane Railway Station adjacent to the Convention Centre in Grey Street.
